Membership Fee
Each student will be charged a membership fee of $40 when they join School of Dance Arts. This fee allows the student to continue taking classes and progressing through dance for many years. If a student decides to "sit out" for a year or two this fee will be charged again when re-enrolled to reinstate the membership. Tuition Tuition is based on a yearly dance term (season) which begins on the first day of class and concludes the day of the spring performance. Tuition may be paid by the season or on a payment plan each month. Tuition charges are based on the total number of weeks in each season and will remain the same regardless of the number of lessons taught within each month. Tuition is due on the first of the month. SDA offers a discount to families who have two or more siblings enrolled concurrently in dance class(es). If you do not fill out a Class Cancellation Form through the School of Dance Arts Website (at the bottom of this page), you are committing to attend class and pay tuition through the end of the season. |
Class Uniform
Dress codes encourage concentration, nurture a sense of community and belonging for dancers. Variations in attire can be distracting and contribute to feelings of inequality. More importantly uniformity in dancewear allows the teachers to assess how well the students are implementing the technique being taught, view boy alignment, muscle use and other important aspects of dance training.
Ladies: A prepared dancer is dressed in her uniform with clean dance shoes in her dance bag, has her hair in a bun (ballet) or secured out of her face, jewelry removed (small earrings permitted) and a bottle of water.
Gentlemen: A prepared dancer is dressed in his uniform (white dance shirt, black shorts/pants/tights, white socks, white ballet slippers and tan tap shoes.
Please mark all dancewear, shoes and personal items with your child's first and last names.
All uniform pieces are available for purchase in the SDA boutique. We are happy to help you select the right item for your class(es) or size for your dancer's shoes. You are required to purchase a SDA leotard and/or dress from the SDA boutique. You are welcome to purchase other uniform supplies from us or to visit another dance retailer.
